Monthly Journal: November 2019
November 30, 2019
November was highlighted with my trip to vibrant Hanoi (read HERE) and the amazing Ha Long Bay (read HERE). I managed to slot in a visit to the postal office while I was at Hoan Kiem Lake and got myself most of the stamps that were available there and pasted it on my journal. There weren't a lot of materials to keep from this trip because most of the entrances to temples and places of interest had no tickets.
Featured with my journal are the two vintage books I bought at a Hanoi second hand bookstore. Both books are in French and at the time of purchase, I was determined to slowly translate the poetry and drama to English in hopes that while doing so, I would be able to equip myself with a few vocabulary of the romantic language. However, no progress has been made up till now though I did attempt to translate random stanzas when I flipped through the book once. If my memory served me right, these are the only words I'm remembering so far, monde (world) and terre (earth). I know, very disappointing. So I do hope I will have some time in 2020 to learn more words to extend my French vocab that might be useful when I travel to France for Mont Saint-Michel or on Route Napoleon some day.
For now, it's time to plan on what to bring along on my first trip to Japan. It will be my first encounter with snow in Hokkaido and also I can't wait to drown in the bustling metropolis of Tokyo this coming December! Will be bringing my film cameras a long as usual. Till then, adios~!
