Monthly Journal: October 2018
October 31, 2018
From my journal, it looked as though October was jampacked with stuff that I would be storytelling in my monthly blog post but actually, the only eventful day was a weekend up to the highlands. I brought along the Canon AE-1 as I felt that it didn't get to travel as much as the Spotmatic did, let alone used as my main camera for my trips.
Unfortunately, I did not load the film in properly and by the time when it was at the lab, only did I realize. At the time of rewinding, I felt slightly odd but thought it was because of my inexperience it handling this camera and not used to its mechanics. The only photos were taken on a second roll on my way back down from Genting Highlands, what a bummer.
That's all the photos I have and really, after a year of shooting on film, I thought I wouldn't have made such a silly mistake of not making sure that my film was loaded in properly. At the end of October, I also had dinner with the Underwater Squad after not meeting each other since forever. One of us will be heading over to Singapore for a better career and I couldn't be more prouder of her to make this move. Story, HERE.
October was also a month where I didn't shoot much on film which happens sometimes I guess. Everyone thinks I carry a film camera everywhere but in reality I don't, though I try my best to do so. They are too precious to get scratches or go missing. Till then, see you again in another most possibly backdated post hehe.
xx,
R
