Monthly Journal: April 2018
April 30, 2018
Another month has come to an end! April was super fun with a trip to the zoo, watching SHINee's concert at the cinema, and of course, celebrating Dexter's birthday. I also especially love this month's spread because of the colours and also the cute animal stickers I pasted just to show off who I met at the zoo.
1 April
April Fool! But I wasn't kidding at all that I wanted to visit my animal friends on the 1st of April. I went along with Dexter as well as my newly purchased Canon AE-1 and its 200mm zoom lens so that I can stalk my animal friends up close, which I did. It was a day of practice on handling the camera as well as revisiting childhood all over again. [read zoo post HERE]

Jonghyun turns 28 on the 8th of April and though it has been 5 months since his passing, what-if scenarios still play in my mind all the time. What if he was still alive and hanging out with the rest of the SHINee members, how would he look like? If he didn't left, how would he be dancing to the latest SHINee song?
I wrote a mini tribute to him which I initially wanted to do so after his passing but I was too heartbroken at that point of time so I decided to wait till his birthday first. Even after re-reading the tribute to Jonghyun hundreds of time, I still felt the same for him and the rest of the SHINee boys. Love them so much. [read mini tribute post HERE]
13 April
A few days before Dexter's actual birthday, I had him celebrate with his best friends at their home office on a lovely Friday night. I prepared a Naruto fruit-filled jelly cake from Q Jelly, which coincidentally had a cake variety with the combination of everything Dexter loved, Naruto, jelly, and fruits!
For those who are curious about the cake, I have been consuming Q Jelly cakes for many years now because my niece and nephew get their birthday cakes from this particular place. Their jelly is not too sweet and when paired up with the fruits filling (you can opt for full jelly-only cake), it makes a yummy dessert especially for us Asians who love celebrating birthdays after dinner.
Back to the birthday celebration, I was on my first roll of the Canon WP-1 so I took the opportunity to capture the moments and I am actually really satisfied with the outcome. It had that spontaneous vibe where everyone was just doing their thing and all just like how the photos suppose to look like back in the olden days. Despite the broken back door and the loss of its waterproof function, this camera is definitely one to keep!
14 April
Another SHINee moment with Vivienne today where we watched SHINee V World concert at a cinema hall! We were there with many other enthusiastic local Shawols enjoying a comfortable concert experience with amazing cinematic sound system.
It was our first time to such an event and I am so happy that there were soooo many free goodies! I really salute the fans for taking the time and spending the money in printing all of these cards and pins and stickers for the rest of us.
Needless to say, the concert brought back a lot of memories especially the time when I was in Bangkok for SHINee V World concert, my first SHINee concert and first time seeing Jjong singing on stage so near me. [read Bangkok concert post HERE]
Jonghyun's posthumous album, POET | ARTIST is also my first album of Jjong's many solo albums. I love how dreamy he is in the photobook. Of course, the songs from Jonghyun are always, always amazing. Love this angel forever!
Towards the end of April, I was also extremely excited for I was to go on a trip to Bangkok in May which I will be talking about in my next blog post when I come back. With that, let me practice my Thai by saying goodnight, ราตรีสวัสดิ์ ratrisawad.
