march 2018 journal

March was exceptionally quiet except for a few dates here and there with close friends which explains the tonnes of stickers on the pages. The highlight of the month has got to be my outing to Jalan-Jalan Japan at 1 Shamelin Mall.

I heard a lot about this place because my brother always buy small figurines and toys as rewards for his children if they did well in their homework or exams. They were selling cheap and good quality toys that were donated by Japanese households and sold here in Malaysia.

I wasn't expecting anything because I read reviews and many people talked about purchasing sports equipment, clothes, kitchen ware, baby strollers, and toys. As my friends were regulars, I decided to tag along and see if I could get something myself!

Truth to be said, if it wasn't for the time constraint, I would have bought more than I did. I enjoy digging for stuff and I can imagine going through that packed hanger-to-hanger racks of clothes for some vintage pieces. For that night, I gotten myself a black casual kimono outerwear which was simple with just small little details at each sleeve and the back. The inside has a satin lining with traditional Japanese graphic (as seen in photo above) and this amazing piece only cost RM 5! I also bought two satin square scarves to wear it as a bandana, each costing RM 5 too.

As I thought I was done with the purchasing of three super cheap and lovely fashion pieces, I found used and new stamps at this super small corner with only 4 mini baskets of stationery. It was a messy pile of paper clips and stamps which I dug into it and bought almost all the stamps I found. The most precious one has got to be the Tokyo Disneyland rubber stamp of Scuttle the seagull from Little Mermaid. I mean, I don't even know if I will ever get that chance to visit that amazing theme park in my life! Most of them are in the photo below:

All the stamps in the photo above were not ALL of it, there were too many to fit into the frame. The Jalan-Jalan Japan at 1 Shamelin didn't take up a lot of space which I believe makes it the smallest outlet among the Seremban branch and OneCity branch. I can't wait to visit the OneCity outlet because it's the largest with 2 floors filled! Till then, goodbye March 💖
