For this last installation of my Penang Island travel blog, instead of Eat, Pray, Love, we embarked on an Eat, Pray, Eat day instead because we literally ate, prayed, and went back to eating. Let's start with the morning where I finally took a nice shot of the second Penang bridge with my Spotmatic (I took a lot but mostly were overexposed, some underexposed). So here you go, a novice shot (after many failed ones) with a camera that has no light meter.

The first stop of the day was the Ayer Itam Assam Laksa which was HEAVENLY. We were there early so thank goodness we didn't need to wait for a seat. Every time I have noodles with soup/gravy/curry, I will only finish up the noodles and that's it. You will never find me drinking up the whole bowl but hell no to this one. I finished every single drop of the Assam Laksa broth and I was so damn satisfied. YUMZ.

A few minutes away from the Assam Laksa store was the Kek Lok Si temple. We drove up to the highest part of the temple where the Guanyin statue stands. It has been many years since this statue was erected yet is still incomplete. Later, we found out that the progress of the statue and it's gazebo only happens once a contribution is made.

Outside the prayer halls, there are booths where you can donate a certain amount of money so that your name will be written on one of the tiles that will be placed by the workers on the incomplete gazebo. You can choose to donate paint, bricks, and many more that will be a part of this magnificent landmark.

We paid our respects, walked a little around the compound, explored the lower levels of the whole temple, and off we were to our next destination.

The next stop was Hin Bus Depot, a recent hotspot in Penang which I got to know from my social media peers. It was a week day so it was empty (I heard it's really happening on Sundays) only for the exhibition there. There were really nice murals in that area and it has that hipster vibe going on. Wished I came on a Sunday.

Creameal Handcrafted Ice-Cream is one of the stores in the compound and we stopped by for some cooling snack. After that, we took silly photos and left to Pinxin Vegan Cuisine to give a surprise to my friends who owns this lovely place.

We arrived at Pinxin Vegan Cuisine around 4:00PM and had our super early dinner there. Aside from savouring the very delicious vegan food they serve, Abang and I also had a great time catching up with the two lovebirds. If you ever drop by Penang, include Pinxin Vegan Cuisine in your must-visit list because the vegan cuisines served here are generous in proportion, tasty, and healthy. Don't forget to try the vegan cakes which in my humble opinion, is much more delicious than the normal cakes you get outside.

Meeting these two again really ended my Penang trip on a sweet note. Their knowledge and generosity in sharing makes me miss working with them. Not only that, I got to eat at their cafe which serves yummy comfort food (seriously recommend this place).

What a way to say goodbye to Penang! It was an amazing week for me and Abang, thank you 💖
I am positive I gained a few KGs along the way but I'm happy nevertheless. This has got to be my best trip to Penang by far and I cannot wait to come back for a visit again!
