After my first weekend in Penang, I was mostly working throughout the following weekdays until Thursday and Friday, which I got to be out and about with Abang who took the time off to tour around the island with me. We visited few of the current trending places in Penang such as the China House and the Penang Avatar Secret Garden which showcased the amazing camera abilities of my Samsung Galaxy S8 💖

Thursday was a lovely day with fluffy clouds and a clear blue sky. I was all pumped up (after 3 days of staying at home only) to go for another food coma session and also to shoot on my film cameras outdoors. Our first stop was the Tiger Char Kuey Teow at Lebuh Carnarvon, Georgetown. Initially our strategy was to order what was the best at that place and not have other food so that we can have more space for the following food spots that we've planned out for the day but then the Loh Bak was too irresistible for us to say no to which is why we ended up screwing up the plan. Was the Char Kuey Teow and Loh Bak delicious? Yes! Did you regret after consuming it? No! Are you satisfied? Yes, yes, yes!

Dessert after our amazing brunch (I suspect I was starving hence the extremity of taste and adjective used) was at the Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul where we ordered the signature and classic Chendul as well as Fruit Rojak which really satisfied the rojak lover in me mmm~

And when we thought we were already filled, we headed over to Chinahouse for the cakes. Holy mama the choices there were like...I wished I had 2 more extra stomachs so that I can eat every single cake there is! It was the hardest decision ever to choose only one freaking slice (Abang was controlling the situation before I order everything)! Abang was to choose one flavour as well and I selfishly wished he would let me do the decision for his slice of cake too. We ended up with Lemon Meringue (Abang's wise choice) and Chocoberry Cake (my sinful choice) 😍

After all of that (food), we took a stroll around the streets where I showed Abang Ernest Zacharevic's wall art and also some other interesting ones around there because I'm such an amazing and informative tour guide-slash-girlfriend. It was only around 15 minutes of walking when this fella complained that it was too sunny and he was going to be a dehydrated cucumber in any moment that we stopped by at Black Kettle Cafe along Beach Street. Upon entering, I saw BREAD, makes you fat but one of my favourite carbos!

Sadly, I really didn't want to force myself so I just got busy with my Spotmatic while Abang "hydrated" himself with some latte. Every time I go to somewhere with coffee with him, I will ask if the coffee is good or bad since he self claimed himself as the coffee aficionado. Black Kettle got a NOT BAD from Monsieur Abang and we will definitely come back for the bread another day!

After a refreshing latte for the man, we walked to Chew Jetty because he hasn't been here before even though he has been to Penang more times than me (???). He wanted to try the Big Bowl Noodles there and I'm like, hell no are you serious..

That was also because we were to have dinner with my friend at The Little Journey Man Cafe for dinner after that. The Little Journey Man Cafe is located at Jalan A. S. Mansoor and has a parking lot right beside it so it's already saving you from searching a spot around the area. The food is delicious and I especially love the Raclette with Crispy Potatoes! I watched this so many times on Facebook where only people outside of Asia get to witness melted cheese scraped into your dish and I saw it here! The cheese, to be honest, doesn't taste like the normal cheese (slightly saltier and has a stronger smell) we normally have but I love dairy a lot so it's acceptable for me.

We ended the night at the Penang Avatar Secret Garden where I was slightly disappointed because it was out of my expectations. Well, I could have checked it out on google instead of relying on the photos posted by my friends but I guess it was not too bad lah. But the colours were so beautiful and sharp when taken with my Samsung Galaxy S8. What will I do without a good camera phone huhu

I forgotten to mention that while I was holidaying in Penang, I was also accomplishing the KODAK Self-Teaching Guide to Using An Adjustable 35mm Camera activity. One of the task was to set the shutter at bulb mode and the lens at its largest opening while someone draws random stuff with a flashlight while I hold the button down. So obviously Abang had to do the drawing which I didn't even asked him what he drew because I assume it was going to be something silly as usual but after the photos were developed, AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW HE DREW ME A HEART 💗

It was a super fun day of getting drunk with food and also a little sightseeing here and there. I really enjoyed my time in Georgetown after rotting for a few days at boring Batu Maung (McD, KFC, etc. doesn't even deliver there). I was contemplating to put in Friday's stuff here as well but I guess a separate Part 3 would be better or this post will be too long and draggy.

Here you go, in case you missed the first part of my Penang series:
